Requirements:
· A degree plus a postgraduate library diploma, or equivalent qualification; or a degree plus relevant experience in the scholarly communication and the publishing industry
· 3 years’ relevant experience in an academic or research library or scholarly communication and publishing industry
· Knowledge of scholarly electronic information resources and associated budget processes
· Exposure to electronic library and information tools
· Sound interpersonal skills and client service orientation
· A high level of computer literacy
· Numerical and analytical skills
· Planning and organising skills
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work under pressure, show initiative and multi-task
· Accuracy and attention to detail
Recommendation:
· Supervisory skills would be advantageous
Key responsibilities:
· Management of print and electronic subscriptions
· Management of electronic resources
· Management of staff working in the electronic resources and serials team in the Acquisitions Section
Please note that this post involves some evening and weekend work.
The annual remuneration package, including benefits for 2013 is between R317 843 and R373 890.
