The Higher Education Libraries Interest Group (HELIG) plans to – in support of the LIASA strategy and to help strengthen higher education and research support in South Africa – host a series of activities throughout the year. The purpose of these will be to introduce new trends which also impact on libraries and service delivery, and to stay abreast of new developments as far as it concerns higher education in our country. The first activity will be on Digital Curation.
HELIG National in collaboration with the Digital Curation Centre (Glasgow, UK) invites you to participate in a webinar on Digital Curation.

Our presenters are Joy Davidson, Associate Director of the DCC and Sarah Jones, Senior Institutional Support Officer. Joy leads the DCC’s training provision and sits on a number of international working groups to define digital curation curricula. Sarah is mainly involved in the DCC institutional engagement programme, supporting universities to develop research data management services. 2. Type your name.
3. Click Join.
4. Click Allow.
5. Click Join Audio.
Understanding the screen layout
Users: Refers to the chair and presenters. You should be able to see the names of the presenters once they have logged in.
Listeners: Refers to the audience. You should see your name listed once logged in.
Video doc: Real-time image of presenters.
Chat: Area where you can type questions to the presenters. You can even select a colour for your questions.
Center of the screen: This is where the presenters will display and manage their presentation.
