Requirements:
- A first degree with law subjects in addition to a PGDipLis, BBibl (Hons) or equivalent
- Two years relevant experience in an academic or research environment
- Teaching and coaching skills
- Sound interpersonal skills and client service orientation
- A good working knowledge of electronic information resources
- A high level of computer literacy
- Research and analytical skills
- Planning and organising skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, show initiative and multi-task
Recommendations:
An LLB qualification, and/or experience in a legal environment would be advantageous.
Key responsibilities:
- Reference and research services
- Providing instruction to classes or focused groups
- Liaison with relevant academic departments
- Collection development
- Providing access to the collections through web- and print-based access tools
Please note that this post involves some evening and weekend work.
The annual remuneration package, including benefits is between R317 843 and R373 890.
