PART-TIME INFORMATION SERVICES LIBRARIAN
We invite applications for this part-time post (22.5 hours a week), at the Health Sciences Library. As the successful candidate, you will assist with the provision of a high quality service to the students and academics of the Health Sciences Faculty.
Minimum requirements include:
· First degree (other than in the field of librarianship) in addition to a PGDipLis, BBibl or equivalent (Consideration will be given to candidates due to complete a library qualification by the end of 2011.)
· Knowledge of electronic information resources
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· A high level of computer literacy
· Research and analytical skills
· Sound interpersonal skills and client service orientation
· Planning and organizing skills
· The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Ability to work under pressure, show initiative and multi-task
This post involves evening and weekend work.
Recommended requirements include:
· Previous library experience, preferably in an academic library
· Training and coaching skills
· Effective networking skills
Responsibilities include:
· Reference and research services
· Library instruction
· Liaison with relevant academic departments
· Collection development
The annual remuneration package, including benefits, is negotiable between R162 149 and 190 742.
