Project Support and Marketing Librarian
We invite applications from qualified candidates for this permanent position in UCT Libraries.
Requirements include:
· Baccalaureate degree in library and information studies
· Educational qualification in marketing and/or marketing management
· At least two years of related experience in project management and marketing in a library environment, at least one of which must be in an academic library
· Experience in training and design of training materials
· Good graphics skills; knowledge of related software packages
· Excellent teaching and coaching skills
· Effective networking skills
· Sound interpersonal skills and client service orientation
· A good working knowledge of electronic information resources
· A high level of computer literacy
· Research and analytical skills
· Planning and organizing skills
· The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work under pressure, show initiative and multi-task
This post involves evening and weekend work.
Responsibilities include:
· Providing project support to the Libraries' Management Team
· Coordinating marketing activities for the Libraries
· Marketing library services
· Playing a key role in determining appropriate methods of communication and interaction with library users, including web presence, reference presence, interactivity with courseware management system
· Advising on and coordinating the look and feel of promotional materials and instructional materials for undergraduates
· Promoting the use of resources available through the Libraries
· Providing library instruction and information services
The annual remuneration package, including benefits, is between R270 249 and R317 904.
