Requirements:
- A degree, plus a postgraduate Library Diploma
- 3 years’ relevant experience in an academic or research library or scholarly communication and publishing industry
- Knowledge of scholarly electronic information resources and associated budget processes
- Awareness of publishing models and electronic resources and licensing models
- Sound interpersonal skills and client service orientation
- A high level of computer literacy
- Research and analytical skills
- Planning and organising skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure, show initiative and multi-task
Supervisory skills will be advantageous.
Key responsibilities:
- Electronic resources collection development and management
- Operations management: print serials
- Manage staff working in the electronic resources and serials team in the Acquisitions Section
Please note that this post involves some evening and weekend work.
The annual remuneration package, including benefits for 2013 is between R317 843 and R373 890.
